  • This unique rum spent 17 years in Trinidad & Tobago in an ex-Bourbon barrel before crossing the Atlantic Ocean to age another 1.5 years in Europe. This cask #TML8 was distilled in 2001 in a column still from fermented molasses. Mostly aged under tropical weather, it gives us a marvelous woody, dry and complex rum. There were only 260 bottles originally available from this wonderful single cask rum, so get it while you can.

  • Launched in 2016, 'Transcontinental Rum Line' is brought to us by the French retailer, LMDW (La Maison du Whisky) and aimed at seducing lovers of high-end rum. The colourful packaging is inspired by rum trader's trips between the New World and the Old Continent. Evaporation rates were found to be lower when barrels were matured en route, rather than in the hot Caribbean climate, hence the trips were considered to have an economic advantage.

Similarly, LMDW's bottlings are first aged first in a tropical climate for a number of months or years, then for up to 12 months or longer in Europe where the cooler conditions slow the maturation process. This edition is brought to us from the world famous House of Angostura and is a limited edition single cask edition of 260 bottles.
