  • The quintessential and world’s best selling Irish whiskey, this edition of Jameson is a classic and a great entry point into the world of Irish whiskey. Originally 100% pot still whiskey, but changed in the 1970’s to become roughly 50% pot still / grain whiskey blend, triple distilled for a smoother flavour and matured in first fill bourbon and sherry wood casks for between 4 and 7 years.

Jameson whiskey has been produced since 1810 and was originally made by John Jameson in the Bow Street distillery in Dublin. John Jameson was a scot who moved to Ireland in the 1770’s and took a share of the Bow street distillery in the 1780’s. By 1800 he had established full control of the distillery and introduced his 2 sons to the business, with the elder, also John Jameson eventually taking over the Bow street distillery. His younger son, William, took over the Marrowbone lane distillery. The iconic whiskey continued to be made in the Bow street distillery until 1971 when it was briefly transferred to the John Powers distillery before production was ultimately moved to the new Middleton distillery in Cork, where it continues to be produced to this day.
