Mina Real is an ecologically sustainable mezcal made with 100% maguey Espadin which is slowly cooked in a brick kiln without the consumption of firewood. The innovative steaming method used to cook its agave highlights the plants' bright floral bouquet without burning an industry average of 3.5 lbs of firewood per litre produced (equivalent to 1 large tree). After cooking, the maguey honeys for Mina Real are fermented intact with their crushed maguey piña fibres in 1400L pine vats using wild yeast, followed by a double distillation in traditional ceramic pot stills for pronounced earthiness and character.
