Tasting Notes for Chalong Bay Rum
Nose: Coconut milk and fresh sugarcane juice aroma. Slowly, a lavender honey aroma develops.
Taste: Chocolate and coffee aroma, moving quickly to spicier notes of pepper, nutmeg, and chilli.
Finish: A very pure and satisfying lychee note develops.
Overall: Delicate and graceful rhum agricole which works well on it's own or in lighter cocktails.

Produced at the Chalong Bay Distillery in Phuket, Thailand, it's technically considered to be a Rhum Agricole due to the fact that it's made from from 100% natural first-press sugarcane instead of molasses. Chalong Bay Rum uses no fertilizers or additives and works in partnership with local Thai farmers. All rums are hand-made in small batches using a traditional column distillation process with an imported French copper still for that extra smooth tropical taste. Soft and delicate, this is a very approachable craft rum which works well both as a sipper and in cocktails.

Chalong Bay is the brainchild of a pair of entrepreneurs from France named Marine Lucchini and Thibault Spithakis. They opened the company in 2014, brought over a copper column still from France and adhered to an all-natural production philosophy: no chemicals or fertilizers for the cane crop, no burning prior to harvesting, and a spirit made from fresh pressed cane juice with no additives. Managing the entire supply chain and production in house allows them to focus on producing to the highest standards and introduce sustainable practices which will benefit the local community. Craft rum at it's best. Keep up the good work guys!
